Much like its studio namesake did throughout the 1930s, 2719 Hyperion has been similarly expanding and evolving since the beginning of 2009. What began some twenty-eight months ago as the online outlet of a sole Disney journalist and historian, is now growing into a community of authors and chroniclers, determined to provide to its readers the very best Disney-related content available. In recent weeks, we have welcomed well-known and celebrated Disney scholars Dave DeCaro (Davelandweb) and Christine Foxx (FoxxFur) to our staff of contributors. In the weeks and months ahead, we plan to expand our horizons even further, bringing on board other noted Disney writers and enthusiasts to help us create an increasingly diverse, but ever interesting and entertaining selection of content for your reading and viewing pleasures.

To employ an overused but still very sincere cliché, 2719 Hyperion is a labor of love for all those involved. We share a common passion for the creative legacy of Walt Disney and serve to explore the products, ideas, philosophies and history of the company he founded over eight decades ago.

2719 Hyperion is a wholly non-commercial, non-profit endeavor. Content is our focus. We will not engage in the pursuit of celebrity. Taking a cue from the National Public Radio mission statement, our goal is to "to create a more informed public — one challenged and invigorated by a deeper understanding and appreciation of events, ideas and cultures." In our case, these events, ideas and cultures are related specifically to the history and legacy of Walt Disney and the Walt Disney Company.
