Virtual Souvenir: The Sky Crown License Plate

Any souvenir associated with Disney's Mineral King ski resort would most certainly have to be virtual in nature. Had the proposed Sky Crown development become a reality in the late 1960s, here is what the fashionable skiers of the day would have had affixed to their automobiles.

The license plate is derived from a design Kevin Kidney recently posted on his blog. Kevin posted the artwork for a number of logo concepts that were conceived in the early 1960s by an unidentified artist. Disney auctioned the original artwork for the logos in 2006.

Virtual Souvenirs: Luggage Labels from the Wilderness

For our next set of Virtual Souvenirs, we apply a heavy dose of travel nostalgia to two of our favorite Walt Disney World resorts. Luggage labels and travel decals were very popular during the first half of the 20th century. National parks and western themed destinations were among the more notable and popular designs, making this type of souvenir a natural fit for Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge.

Virtual Souvenir: The EPCOT 25 License Plate


We're introducing a brand new feature here at 2719 Hyperion: the Virtual Souvenir. These are the items we wish we could find at the Emporium or Mouse Gear or the World of Disney. First up, and tying into our celebration of EPCOT's 25th, we present an anniversary license plate that enhances and expands upon the popular 25 design we've been featuring since last February.

Excuse me while I go affix it to my virtual Lamborghini . . .
