loosetoon, I did see the Mickey Mouse Club appearances on one of the DVD's I loaned from the library. It was a "Best of Mickey Mouse Club" DVD and had 3 or 4 episodes on it.

It was one of those things where I got the DVD for my kids and fell off my chair when I heard the fire bells ring and ran to watch it.

I have also seen it on YouTube, but they seem to yank it off of there quite frequently.

Years ago, I remember heading down to Disneyland on Saturday evenings just to hear Ward Kimball and his band.

I didn't care about going on the rides. I just wanted to hear the Firehouse Five plus Two.

Thanks fro the great article! I picked up a copy of "Hit Parade of 1951" on VHS off of eBay, and a DVD of all of the Snader Telescriptions. I wonder if those Mickey Mouse Club appearances are available anywhere?

Disney artist Hank Porter was asked by Ward Kimball to join the group as a piano player - Porter had played the piano ever since he was a child and by all accounts was a very, very accomplished player. For whatever reason, Porter declined the offer.
